Nurturing our Shepherds
Yesterday, the priests of the Diocese of Tagum personally served dinner to guests from the parishes of Davao del Norte at the SAM Centre, Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Nazareno Parish, Apokon, as part of Nurturing Our Shepherds: Dinner for a Cause, an initiative of the Commission on Clergy.
In the simplicity of sharing a meal, the gathering became an expression of the communion that binds the Diocese together. It was a reminder that while our priests dedicate themselves to accompanying the faithful, they too need the prayer, support, formation, and care of the community entrusted to them.
The dinner seeks to support the programs of the Commission on Clergy, particularly clergy formation and seminary support, helping nurture the men who have generously given their lives to the service of God and His people.
The evening was also made joyful through the presence of Most Rev. Medil S. Aseo, DD, Bishop of Tagum, who serenaded the guests, sharing not only his ministry as shepherd of the Diocese but also a moment of fellowship with the faithful.
The gathering with the Davao del Norte parishes is only the beginning. In the coming days, parishes from Davao de Oro will likewise come together in support of this cause.
Because a shepherd who gives himself for the flock also deserves a community that walks with him. May we continue to pray for our priests, support their formation, and care for those who faithfully shepherd us. (DitasCom)
