Vocation Month: From September to November

In previous years, Vocation Month in the Archdiocese of Davao was celebrated in September. However, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Permanent Council approved a formal decree for the celebration of National Vocation Month every November. The decree which was approved on January 2024 was requested by the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Vocations.

As a result, the Archdiocese of Davao permanently synchronized its local vocation festivals, symposium, and Jamborees to November starting with the inaugural nationwide observance in 2024. The programs of the National Vocation Month are focused on discerning three main paths in the Church: priestly and religious life, single blessedness, and married life. These are all centered around a shared call to holiness.

On this month when we celebrate Vocation Month and start the Solemnity of all saints, we better reflect on the universal call to holiness.
