Cardinal Tagle to hold recollection for papal visit media

MANILA, Nov. 15, 2014–The head of Manila Archdiocese will conduct a recollection for media practitioners who will be covering Pope Francis’s upcoming visit to the Philippines.

Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle said it will be held on December 3 so that interested participants from the media will be “spiritually prepared” for the papal visit on Jan. 15 to 19 next year.

“For those who are interested, I will give a recollection regarding the pope’s visit to the media people so that you would also be prepared spiritually,” Tagle said.

The cardinal said he will particularly focus his recollection on the official theme of the papal visit which is “Mercy and Compassion”.
The venue of the recollection will be announced later.

Pasig Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara, chairman of the CBCP Commission on Social Communications, also announced that registration for media accreditation for the papal visit will open online via www.papalvisit.ph on Monday, November 17.

He added that the papal visit national headquarters of the media committee for the pope’s visit will open on Nov. 24 at the 3rd floor of the Knights of Columbus Fr. George J. Willman Memorial building along Gen. Luna St., in Intramuros, Manila.

He said application for media accreditation will last until December 8. (CBPCNews)
