Fr. William Adams, C.S.s.R. or “Fr. Bill” as he is called, exhorted those who participated in the charismatic Healing Mass he presided held at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in Bajada, last October 15 at 7 in the evening. The activity was organized by the Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community.

Fr. Bill laid hands on many people who came that night. He says he never gets tired while going about his mission. Human as he is, he could get tired but his empowerment comes from the Holy Spirit. He has been a priest for 50 years. He is involved in various ministries in the U. S. and other countries, which include preaching missions and retreats, as well as celebrating healing Masses. He is in the Philippines from October 11-26, 2015, to give talks, celebrate Mass and conduct healing services. Davao was one of his stops.

In his invitation for the healing service, he cited the exhortation of St James: “Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them.” The Scriptures recorded instances of laying on of hands from the Lord Jesus to his disciples. The church today continues this tradition not only in charismatic healing services but importantly also in the Sacraments of Confirmation. So, the participants came forward eagerly.

Citing the Gospel of Luke, St. John Paul II says “Jesus instructed Peter and his companions to ‘go out into the deep. They did and they caught many fish.’” Likewise, “the call of our lives is also to go into the deep and be submerged in the Living Water for each one to receive and empower wherever we are able to touch,” he added. “What does it mean to go out into the deep? Each one of us must become a contemplative by entering into a deepening union with the Lord who released the Spirit into the world – total gift of ourselves, total commitment into this Living Water,” he ended.
