Holy Cross College of Calinan renews ties with DAVCO

HCCC as the premier of quality education and DAVCO as the leading pineapple exporter in the Philippines firmly believe and respond to the call of Pope Francis during his UN visit in which he proclaims the existence of a “right of the environment”. In response to his call, HCCC and DAVCO strengthened their ties to secure environmental protection and to bring back the beauty of nature for the next generation.

Both parties sealed the renewal of a project that aims to protect the environment last Monday at 2:00 p.m., January 18, 2016, at the HCCC AVR. Sister Lorna B. Murillo, P.M., the school president of Holy Cross College of Calinan and Atty. Nicolas Banga, CPA, AVP for Administration of the Davao Agricultural Ventures Corporation signed a Memorandum of Agreement to extend their partnership in the Tree Stewardship program.

It was witnessed by the school Assistant Dean of College, Mrs. Rolita B. Arguilla; the Basic Education Dept. Principal, Miss Ma. Corazon C. Sunga; the Community Engagement and Services Head, Mr. Van Anthony Quiamco; the College Program Head for Liberal Arts, Mr. Benedict Carillo; the Student Affairs and Welfare Head, Mrs. Jessica O. Rabang; student representatives from the Basic Education Department and College Department; DAVCO’s Head of Compliance and Information Department, Mr. Eric So; and SB member of Barangay Cawayan, Kag. Adjianeib A. Limpio.

The project will be spearheaded by the Community Engagement and Services Office of HCCC and DAVCO will provide seedlings, security for the safety of the planters and the tree planting site.
