On February 03, 2018 the seminarians of the St. Francis Xavier College Seminary showcased their giftedness through the event fashionably named as “XaCoSe Got Talent”, with the theme: “Our Gifts at the Service of the Church.” Through the initiative of the council officers of the seminary and spearheaded by the Socio-Cultural Chairman of the community, Sem. Jhon Michael Bongcawel, came up with this activity which was held at the recreational hall of the said institution. “This event aims to reactivate and nurture the talents that each seminarian has and offer it to the church and back to God, who is the source of all skills and talents,” remarked Sem. Jhon Michael Bongcawel.

The seminary, which is considered as “the heart of the diocese”, is where the seminarians are formed to become future leaders of the church and effective shepherds of Christ’s beloved flock. In this respect, the seminary organized different official clubs: toastmasters club who are in-charge with the emceeing, XaCoSe Dance Troupe for the dances, Schola Cantorum which is the official choir of the seminary, Instrumentalists club are the musicians, Aesthetics club are assigned to decorate and beautify, and, finally, the Golden Fingers the official artists of the institution. These clubs enrich and sharpens the God-given gifts of the seminarians, that soon they may be productive wherever they are as they serve the local Church.

“Discipleship constitutes three inseparable elements “logos” which means “mind”, “pathos” denoting “emotion”, and “ethos” that connotes character. Thus, gifts and talents that priests possess are great contributions to the growth and glory of the Church” Rev. Fr. Allan Rodriguez, the Dean of Seminarians, was quoted in his closing remarks given during the XaCoSe GOT TALENT. (Sem. Charles Gonzales)
