OLLP kids end up summer with mind-blasting bible quiz, colourful santacruzan and memorable reunion

As the summer season ends, kids of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal culminated their Flores de Mayo last May 31 with two major activities: the bible quiz for kids and the search for the little Reyna Elena; and it was ended up with a Santacruzan and a Holy Eucharist celebrated by the OLLP Parish Priest Father Dexter C. Veloso.

The bible quiz was topped by ten little geniuses from various GKKs.  They were Anne Maraveles of San Roque,  Lance Andrew Imperial of Sagrada Pamilya, Jaylo Tanudra of San Miguel, Keberly Dawn Sabio of Santiago Apostol, Janzenn Dale Jumo of ICC Kadayawan, Imbree Kent Maestre of Holy Family, Releane Clare Lancian of Holy Rosary, Kyla Arpafo Cabaoy of ICC Taal, Chelsse Provido of ICC Kadayawan and Chloe Shane Hejosa of San Roque.

Beautiful kids from twenty-four GKKs also contended for this year’s Santacuzan.  Dianne Gonzales of Señor Santiago Apostol Balusong was crowned as the little Reyna Elena.  Princess Kyle Simbajon of San Juan won both the Best in Mary-like Walk and the Best in Friendship; Nicole Faith Amargo of Sto. Niño Bulusan won the Best in Photogenic; Stephanie Jasmine Rizano of Sto. Niño Alzate won the Best in Gown; and Tessa Mari Hijada of ICC Kadayawan won the Best in Casual Attire.

All the beautiful kids were paraded in the Santacruzan with their respective Arkos. The Holy Rosary GKK won the Best Arko being the most decorated against other GKKs.  These culminating activities with a theme “Pagtoo ni Santa Maria atong Giya” were initiated by PSP Coordinator Sis. Elenita Biag and Head Catechist Sis. Ana Norbe.

Immediately after, another Holy Mass was celebrated by Father Veloso to open the CFC Reunion Celebration of the Couples for Christ Bangkal Chapter led by the Unit Head Bro. Cesar Orendain.  After the Mass rolled the sounds of the CFC Kids Band in the evening of May 31.  Provincial Head Director Atty. Tom Sentillas of CFC Davao showered the evening occasion.  Almost 200 CFC members joined the reunion including about seventy couples and a number of youths and kids who enjoyed the night featured with the CFC Kids Band.
