Abp Valles endorses Social Media Conference in Davao

Archbishop Romulo G. Valles has given his endorsement on the upcoming social media conference in Davao City.

“I am encouraging you to participate in this noble endeavor. As it hopefully “creates camaraderie among companies, businesses, and the academe, it aims to bring about modern and creative ways to do marketing today,” Abp. Valles writes in endorsing the initiative of Shift Davao dated June 27.

“In this Year of Faith, I hope and pray that your participation in this activity would enhance the evangelization ministry of the Church and would be ‘a moment of grace and commitment to a more complete conversion to God, to strengthen our faith in him and proclaim him with joy to the people of our time,’” the archbishop added.

SHIFT Davao Social Media Conference aims to teach netizens the right way of promoting their ideas, their business, product or service through the use of the social media. The event is set on July 27 at the Ateneo de Davao University Finster Hall, Jacinto Campus.

Perry Paul Lamanilao, one of the organizers of this event said industry professionals looking to further their social media knowledge and discover new approaches in digital marketing, products and technologies, media practitioners and social media enthusiasts and analysts are expected to attend in this one-of-a kind gathering here in Davao City.

Among the speakers who will share their input and experiences in the use of social media are: Maria Ressa, CEO, from social media news network Rappler.com, Bianca Gonzalez, celebrity host/reporter, from the country’s biggest TV network ABS-CBN, Atty. Yvez Gonzales, Consultant for Technology and Communications with MMDA, Engr. Jaypee David, Community leader – Digital Marketing, from the country’s biggest mobile network provider Globe Telecom and Luke Meinzen, from the United States Embassy – Manila, along with other speakers coming from Manila who will talk about the following topics.
