An invitation to lay leaders

The Kahiusahan sa mga Layko sa Mindanao (KALAMI) will be launching its 9th KALAMI Regional Gathering this coming July 8-12, 2013, to be held at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Cagayan de Oro City.

On the said gathering, the laypeople in Mindanao will contemplate on its theme, “Revisiting Vatican Council II after 50 years of its challenges to the lay people”, to deliberate and to confer on the development of church’s magisterium and its effects on the laypeople 50 years after its pronouncement to the Roman Catholic Church.

This gathering aims (1) to listen to the words of wisdom of our Resource Person in the understanding of laity’s participation in church renewal and social transformation as envisioned in the Vatican II documents; (2) to focus on the sharing of the Resource Speaker on the national and church situation in the Philippines; (3) to collectively share on the laity’s understanding and experiences on the challenges of laity’s participation in church renewal and social transformation in the light of the Vatican II; and (4) to articulate challenges and directions of KALAMI in the next three years.

Cagayan de Oro Archbishop Antonio Javellana Ledesma SJ, DD, will shower the occasion as the Keynote Speaker and the main celebrant of the Opening Eucharistic Celebration.
