Italian Lay Missionaries visit Lumondao

August 20, 2013 Two Italian Lay Missionaries from Naples, Italy together with volunteer Workers conducted an outreach mission in Lumondao today, August 20, 2013. The group dispensed free medicines and food items to more than 200 indigent families. After a short catechesis input, the Italian missionaries then entertained the families with their “imported” magic acts. Though they are busy with their own professions, these talented missionaries are also popular magicians in Italy.

Mr. Dario Barbieri, 30 years old, single and Mr. Francesco Calise, 31years old, single, belong to the missionary group San Mattias. Every year they take one month off from their respective jobs in Italy in order to do missionary work in a foreign country. According to Mr. Barbieri, he is now on his third year in the missions and had been sent to India and Namibia. Their missionary work here in the Philippines is in coordination with the Society of Divine Vocations. Brother RachidDespuig, SDV accompanied them in their outreach missions in Davao City. They arrived last July 25, 2013 and will return to Italy on August 24, 2013.
