ABAD to introduce family bible enthronement
The Archdiocesan Bible Apostolate of Davao (ABAD) plans to bring into practice the reading of the Holy Bible within the family in line with the celebration of the National Bible Week on January 2014.
According to Mrs. Mila Punzalan, ABAD Coordinator, the conceived family bible enthronement will strengthen family ties through the presence of the family members during a bible enthronement at home. She cited that it is pleasant to see families praying together focusing at the word of God reminding the common quotation “The family that prays together stays together”.
The said family bible enthronement will be given birth on December 29 conforming to the celebration of the Feast of the Holy Family.
She added that the importance of this celebration is to remind everyone how important the Bible is as well as the Word of God in each of us. She also emphasized that the Bible should be read, learned, and shared to others.
Furthermore, Punzalan hoped that the family bible enthronement would become an inspiration to Christian families to reread their bibles at home.
Moreover, the National Bible Week will commence on January 20 and will culminate on January 26, National Bible Sunday, with the theme “Engaging every family in proclaiming and living the word of God”. These activities are celebrated annually pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation No. 1923.
Aside from the family bible enthronement, many activities are to be conducted based on the preceding celebrations such as bible quiz, poster making, symposium, bible blessing and bible enthronement in the parish and Gagmayng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKKs).
