Hi! I just want to ask for an assistance and enlightenment straight from the Church by telling us what to do.
My mom’s friend has just been converted to another denomination. It all begun when my friends younger sister invited to their house a certain denomination and that they are just going to read and share to their family the good news from the bible. And so since her mom is very welcoming to all those who follow Christ, they welcomed the group to their home and listened.
After several months, her parent’s marriage was in a “hot water” then they separated for some long a time unresolved marital issues.
Since then, her mom’s time and attention have diverted to the group and changed her ways of faith.
We believe that her mom got this sense of refuge from the group after their separation that even when the pastor started presenting power points disparaging the Catholic Church practices (images of saints, rosary, Mama Mary, Eucharist and the priests) and all that “jazz” she was not able to grab even an inkling of idea that the group is starting to convert her faith to theirs.
Her mom started handling the pastor a petty cash and the pastor likes it and decided to do service in their house 2x a month then it went on every Sunday. It’s a long story.
I just want to know what my friend should do since the pastor instructed their members to collect and burn all the sacred images from their house (30-yr. old images) at a time when no one is around and her mom seems fine with it.
Where do we go from here? My friend wants to sue them particularly the pastor.
Thanks DC Herald,
Nina Estrella Yap
