ICP Youth Conducts Tree Planting

“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” (Genesis 2:15)

The Immaculate Conception Parish (ICP) Youth Apostolate in partnership with San Pedro College – Community Extension Service office conducted a tree planting activity during the 16th day of February at Eden Watershed, Barangay Eden, Davao City. It was participated by sixty eight (68) young leaders and members of the aforementioned parish. The road towards the site was not as easy as expected for they encountered different obstacles along the way.

The participants showed their eagerness to plant trees as they trekked in muddy and steep roads for an hour just to reach the site. The blood-sucking leeches are also found along the way to the site that adds on the struggles of the participants.

More than two hundred (200) trees were planted by the young Christians of Immaculate Conception Parish. It was a life fulfillment  for every participant because they were able to express their love to nature.

As mentioned by one of the youth leaders of ICP: “It was a group date like no other. It helps us to appreciate more the goodness of our God as He gave us such precious gift (nature) for all of us. Thus, we need to take good care of it.” The ICP Youth Apostolate would like to thank San Pedro College – Community Extension Service office for allowing us to experience such pleasurable tree planting activity.  May this simple and fun activity inspire not only the parishioners of ICP but the entire Church to save, protect and LOVE our nature.
