Duterte “Not Going to Prison”!

While several sectors are encouraging Mayor Duterte to run for president, the mayor has a way of saying “NO THANKS”. His reasoning: “We imprison our presidents starting from Erap, then Gloria and who knows, maybe Pnoy too!   Do you also want to send me to prison?” End of discussion. Hahaha!

ELECTIONS —There is a group that makes a daily countdown on the days remaining before the May 2016 elections. There are  721 remaining days left to May 9,2016. In the meantime, the NAPOLIST issue is still raging with new twists and additional names. Let ‘s see if the Filipinos known for  having “short memories” and will still  continue to vote for those names in the “dishonor list”. I’m still HOPEFUL!

NATION-WIDE BAN  — Contrary to public belief, it is not only in Davao City where there is a smoking ban in public places. This is enforced nation -wide by virtue of RA 9211 passed as early as in 2003, otherwise known as the Tobacco Regulation Act.

WORRISOME — I’m getting more worried about the Bangsamoro agreement. I heard the MILF admitting that the agreement signed  needs constitutional amendments  to implement it, meaning there are provisions there that do not conform yet with our basic law necessitating amendments to the charter to allow implementation. But Malacanang is saying there is no need for constitutional amendments. Which is which?

VS CHINA — Vietnamese protests against China due to their  territorial dispute in the South China Sea  resulted to violence like burning of suspected Chinese factories in Vietnam. Lately, China has decided to evacuate 3,000 chinese residents from Vietnam fearing more anti-chinese violence will erupt.  We Pinoys  are taking the peaceful option by filing our claims with the United Nations. We are more CIVILIZED.
