San Miguel Parish turns 20

The San Miguel Parish of Panacan celebrated its 20th Foundation Day on June 15, 2014.

The celebration started with a Holy Mass at 9:00 A.M. Archbishop Emeritus of Davao Most Rev. Fernando R. Capalla, D.D.and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Proceso G. Gimeno Jr., DCD , the Parish Priest of San Miguel Panacan.

Members of the Parish Coordinating Council, Parish Pastoral Team and other members of various ministries were in full forced, too.

Archbishop Capalla emphasized in his homily that it was the work of the Holy Trinity that sustains the Parish in reaching its 20th Foundation Anniversary. He urged the parishioners to give thanks to the Holy Trinity in guiding them to attain completion.

After the Holy Mass, the ground breaking where the side Chapel will be constructed was blessed them with the Parish Pastoral Team and Parish Coordinating Council. Engr. Rudy Sultan and his wife, Linda, were recognized as the sponsor of the said project. At the same time, the newly constructed Sacristy Building and New Parish Office were also sprinkled with water. Fellowship lunch followed, while Marlon Dawa’s company presented some acoustic songs.

Part of the celebration were also a Medical, Dental and Free Eye Check-up conducted simultaneously headed by Ate Tessie Barbosa, PSA-Caritas and Ate Susan Toreno, the PSA Coordinator and other member of the PSA Core group. The Medical mission was sponsored by the Bioanalytical Laboratories while the Dental Mission by some committed dentists of the Parish.

Different ministries and organizations presented their folk dances and songs as part of the Parish Foundation Day celebrations. The group of Parish Renewal Experience (PREX) also rendered their intermission in the program.

At exactly 2:30 PM the celebration was over. The Parishioners went home tired but happy as they contributed to make the celebration joyful and memorable.
