Solemnity of Corpus Christi

In the Gospel according to St. John, Jesus was abandoned by many of His followers when His discourse about the bread of life was very difficult to accept (Jn 6). Jesus is the bread of life. He is truly present in the species of bread and wine in the Mass. Moreover, receiving the Lord in the Holy Eucharist sustains us in our journey to eternal life.

To understand His love more profoundly, He never really left us. He awaits us in every age in the tabernacles around the world. St. Jose Maria Escriva, says, “. . . friends and relatives may abandon us, but Jesus is the only company who never lets us down. . . never leaves us.”

Let us foster the habit of storming tabernacles whenever we find ourselves near a church, chapel, etc. The Lord has been waiting for us for two thousand years to listen to our concerns through prayers. Unfortunately, only a few are taking advantage of this great reality!

May we thru the Blessed Virgin Mary, celebrate life in the presence of God more often in front of the tabernacle just as St. John leaped for joy in the womb of St. Elizabeth as Mama Mary, the Ark of the Covenant, carried Jesus in her womb to visit them.
