‘God wants us to know how He loves us’

Though some may not be able to see it, but God loves His children very much and the Sacred Heart of Jesus can assure that.

This is the message of Archbishop of Davao Romulo G. Valles during the 45th parochial fiesta celebration of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Obrero, Davao City, June 27.

In his homily during the concelebrated Mass on the fiesta day, Archbishop Valles said “Jesus wants to tell us how he loves and cares for us. He is passionate in choosing and loving us.”

“God chose us because of His passionate love for us,” he said, adding: “Jesus loved us first.”

The archbishop also challenged the mass-goers present that if they start loving in their own little way, then it will grow and grow and God will be there, saying “just start loving.”

He said being a Christian is not easy, saying that God did not say that he will take all burdens but said  ‘my yoke is easy and my burden is light.’

On a personal note, the archbishop also asked the people to pray for him and his fellow priests that they may become Christ-like and to have the Sacred Heart of Jesus in serving them better.

After the Holy Mass, the archbishop led the blessing of the new facilities in the parish like candle chapel area, comfort room for both men and women, youth office, among others so that the parish can serve the parishioners better. (@johnfrancesf)
