REMASE has come of age
For Vatican II, major seminaries should be established with the aim to form priests who shepherd souls after the example of the Lord Jesus.
We owe it to the first missionaries in Davao region to found the first ever theological seminary in Mindanao, now known as Regional Major Seminary (REMASE) with St. Francis Xavier as its patron.
Celebrating its golden year, July 11, REMASE brings us to recall the toils of the PME fathers who established this seminary. We have the reason to marvel at its growth not only of its physical structure but also of the number of alumni that it formed. Our desire to serve more is manifest in the number of the clergy and the laity, here and abroad, who humbly support REMASE in their own capacity.
REMASE has come of age due to the selfless dedication of past and present formators both SVD’s and diocesan. We wish more future formators will be ready to offer themselves in forming future priests. As Vatican II says: “Seminary superiors and professors should therefore be chosen from among the best and should receive a careful preparation in sound doctrine, suitable pastoral experience and special training in spirituality and teaching methods” (OT 5).
Mabuhay REMASE!
