Sacred Heart Welcomes Three New Brothers

In their desire to fully commit in the love of Christ and in servitude towards God, 3 Brothers were welcomed during the Perpetual Profession rite held at the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Chapel in Catalunan Grande last Sunday, July 6, 2014.

A mass was held for Br. Cornelio Baguio, SC, Br. Rogelio Eneco, SC and Br. Diosdado Mondejar, Jr., SC as they took a great leap of faith in officially entering into the religious life.

The mass was presided over by Msgr. Paul A. Cuison and was concelebrated by several Priests.  Also present were brothers, sisters and lay missionaries from different congregations as well as friends and family.

In his Homily, Msgr. Cuison emphasized the modern world’s need to have people who are chaste and pure in heart to remind us that is it only through selflessness and through God can we discover the true meaning of life.

“In a world that has become so materialistic where the love of money and the accumulation of wealth has become the rule of life… we need witnesses who can show us a life of simplicity and detachment,” Msgr. Cuison said. He added, “It takes the likes of Br. Cornelio, Br. Rogelio and Br. Diosdado – meek and humble of heart, child-like in one word – to be able to discover the hidden power and beauty of religious life.”

Bros. Baguio, Eneco and Mondejar were accompanied by their families as they approached the altar and signed a binding contract into the Brotherhood.

“I am overjoyed by the situation. In my whole life, I did not expect to reach this status as a Perpetual Religious Brother and I really praise God for this blessing,” Br. Cornelio Baguio, SC said.

When asked how this milestone will change his life, Br. Baguio answers “First, my way of life will surely change because of this. I am prepared to fully embrace simplicity and a detachment from worldly things completely.”

After the mass, a simple dinner was shared by everyone in celebration of the first day of the 3 Brothers’ Perpetual Religious life.
