Bangkal parish conducts various trainings for lay leaders

The Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal convened all its GKK Pangulo sa Katilingban last August 17, 2014, at the parish conference room on a day orientation of Risk Reduction Preparedness.

The parish was very serious in the risk reduction campaign considering that Bangkal is topographically a catch basin area of flash floods as it is situated between Talomo River and Pangi River.

During the said orientation, the GKK leaders remembered how the killer flash flood drowned scores of lay parishioners in June 2011. This experience desired the participants to reecho the campaign to the seven GKK districts of OLLP within this year.

The Risk Reduction Preparedness for the PSK was held successfully through the initiative of the Risk Reduction Coordinator Jojo Josol, in coordination with the Service Ministry Coordinator Vicky Macaday, and assisted by Thelma Bernasor and Ofelia Bautista.

Separately, last August 31, 2014, the GKK Pangulo sa Liturhiya also gathered for a day Church Teaching Seminar.  The said seminar was intended to deepen the the faith-life experiences of the parish lay leaders.

It was the ninth and the last wave of the same seminar within a year that completed most, if not all, lay leaders of the parish.  This last wave attended by the PSL was also participated in by some members of Wedding Apostolate, Mother Butler and Legion of Mary.

This one day Church Teaching Seminar was packaged with Basic Church History, Basic Social Teachings, GKK Orientation, IIREF Orientation, APAD 2, and Roman Catholic Hierarchy. This was initiated by parish Formation Ministry Coordinator Vonz Hijada, and assisted by fellow formators PPC Coordinator Nestor Fruto and PPC Secretary Vinny Bajo.  (Vonz M. Hijada )
