UIC students look like saints for Divine Cosplay

Students of University of Immaculate Conception in Davao City are giving ideas for those who are fond of Halloween celebration by donning a costume play of saints.

During the Bigkasan 2014 activity of the Filipino I subject under the guidance of Mr. Arlington Vidal, one of the highlights is the Divine Cosplay where eight students impersonate known and not-so-known saints. The activity was held October 11, at the UIC Auditorium in Fr. Selga Campus.

Among the saints portrayed are the following: St. Aloysius Gonzaga, San Pedro Calungsod, St. Filomena, St. Gemma Galgani, St. Dominic Savio, St. Ma. Goretti, St. Charles Lwanga, and St. Gabriel of the Our Lady of Sorrow.

The student who portrayed St. Gemma Galgani, Charipie Dumagan of BSPharma-1f won in the contest.
Vidal said he is recommending Divine Cosplay than Halloween costume parties as the former will educate the young about the life of the saints and not just scare and entertain people.

Aside from the Divine Cosplay, students from different sections and courses competed in the Sabayang Pagbigkas and Ginoo at Binibining Bigkasan 2014.

Vidal said this is their final project for their subject and he is happy for the success of the activity organized by the students themselves. He added that the students exceeded his expectations.(@johnfrancesf)
