Pro Life Advocacy

The Visit of Pope Francis from January 15 to 19 have been analyzed and interpreted in so many ways. The 2014 expose of Filipino multi-billion corruption caught the world’s attention that Pope Francis had to say something about it because the faithful expected it. This made the CBCP’s focus on proclaiming God’s word towards national transformation easier to develop.

It is however, in the strengthening of the Family and Christian Values that the theme of the Papal visit that created a big impact. Mercy and Compassion this early have been associated with Pope Francis. This should be the starting point of our advocacy for pro life.

We believe he is a real pastor who can explain the church’s teaching while understanding the concerns of modern people. It is a problem because some of the faithful in the Americas are not used to being told not to think and the Vatican is not used to being told not to dictate. Liberation theology and abortion are examples of this enigma. The message of Pope Francis regarding the Christian Family, Compassion and Mercy is timely in a world dangerously learning towards earthly and materialistic values.
