HCCS Extension Program: 49 Years and Counting

THE Holy Cross College of Sasa continues to journey with the community it serves as it turned 49 years old, recently.

The following programs were provided in spite of the heavy rain: Deworming by Mrs. Virginia Rizada, Health Education by Mrs. Heide Navarro, Livelihood by Mrs. Engay, Feeding by Mrs. Restauro, Blood Pressure check-up by Mrs. Cana, and distribution of goods by Mrs. Ging Pasquito. The faculty and staff also participated in the Friendship Games that transformed everyone into being youthful.

Archbishop Emeritus Fernando R. Capalla, D.D. presided the Mass in the morning at St. Joseph the Worker Parish. It was sponsored by the Alumni, PTA Board and Student Body Government (SBG) officers. Awarding took place inside the celebration where the following employees who rendered 5 years in the school’s service were recognized: Dr. Noel Caballes, Mrs. Kharen Beje, Mrs. Ada Namoc, Mrs. Laira Cadavas, Mrs. Grace Opong, Ms. Cecil Bagol, and Mr. Edgar Pojas. The nine-day Novena Masses were sponsored by different alumni batches from batch 1981 up to 2013.

Field demonstrations by the Grades 7, 8, 9, 10 and the College department made everyone put into life the theme: “Remembering the Past, Thanking the Present and Building the Future.” (Carmen D. Timario | SJP SoCCom)
