Pentecost

The age of the Church

Pentecost“The Church was made manifest to the world on the day of Pentecost by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit ushers in a new era in the dispensation of the mystery – the age of the Church, during which Christ manifests, makes present and communicates his work of salvation through the liturgy of his Church, until he comes” (CCC 1076).

In the Davao, Digos, Tagum and Mati region (DaDiTaMa), the Church has been so alive. Every quarter, like this coming June 4, bishops, priests and lay leaders will gather again for the DaDiTaMa meeting in Digos. Last April 24 and this coming June 20, the two new bishops’ ordination and installation – Bishop Abel Apigo, D.D. and Bishop Medel Aseo, D.D. – show how blessed are we as community of faith, hope and love with the leadership in the Church through our local bishops. Our Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban are gifted with our lay leaders, like the PSKs, PSLs, PSBs, PSAs, and other leaders who try, amidst challenges of community life, to make the church and to live as church in the grassroots. Our first SoCCom gathering in the Archdiocese of Davao on May 27, participated by representatives from Digos, Tagum and Mati is also a reason to recognize the Holy Spirit who unites and inspires.
