Releasing of new business, health permits for 2019

The renewal and application of new business and health permits began as 2019 started to pave way into a new juncture. It was further prompted during the ISPEAK Media Forum held at the City Hall of Davao last January 10, 2019 to reach to the people and remind them of the annual custom of renewing business and health permits, and imply a sense of responsibility of securing one.

According to OIC – Business Bureau Office City Government of Davao Atty. Marissa Torenta, regular renewal period of business application reached a number of 15, 628 applicants within the early days of 2019. Torenta also said that 2, 327 people have already gained business cards, which means they already paid for the permit’s release. The amount of people applying this year increased in almost a thousand and the phase of the process was brisker than of last year.

The amount of people and food establishments securing health permits are slowly increasing their number. To this month, 800 people have already got themselves health permits according to Chief in Sanitation Inspector II City Government of Davao Curtis Lazarraga. Health cards are the bases especially for food handlers to assess if they are really capable to work in the establishment. It is also a mandatory requirement of the City Health office to ensure one for their whole year round monitoring of their establishments. Health cards are secured at SM Ecoland, accommodating 1,000-1,200 employees per day.

Business and health permits are required to continue operations of certain business establishments. The due of the final releasing of permits will be until January 31, 2019 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod. Hence, it is a need to secure one especially those of business people to procure expanding and growing business and that of those that depends on their living.
