February is Pro-life month

Life is a very precious gift from heaven. This gift should never be taken for granted. But after the end of World War II in 1945, there was a dramatic increase in world population while the areas on producing food was decreasing. To solve this problem, the United Nations (UN) experts in the 1960s began a big drive telling nations to reduce the massive population growth through population control. Drug Companies and Scientists created new birth control pills and mass produced condoms and intra-uterine devises. Doctors introduced new and very effective methods in vasectomy and tubal ligation. They were made without considering the moral and social implications, the bad side effects it would cause and the very bad impact on religious beliefs.

We believe that family planning through natural rhythm method is the best. St. Paul wrote the human body is a sacred temple created by God. Vasectomy and tubal ligation means cutting off a part of the human reproduction organ. Taking a pill, using condom and inserting an Intra Uterine Devise means putting a foreign object in the body. Any tampering (except to save life by removing cancerous growth or putting a pace maker, etc.) is a desecration of a sacred temple which is our body.

We pray that people will know the meaning of the sanctity of life as we celebrate Pro Life Sunday.
