Davao Clergy Retreat

editorial Davao clergy retreat“Stay quiet with God… Do not give yourself to others so completely that you have nothing left for yourself.”

These are the words of St. Charles Borromeo, Archbishop of Milan from 1564 to 1584, a cardinal of the Catholic Church, a leading figure of the Counter-Reformation combat against the Protestant Reformation together with St. Ignatius of Loyola and St. Philip Neri, and also known as patron of bishops, catechists, cardinals, seminarians, spiritual leaders.

The annual retreat of Davao Clergy from November 18-22, 2019 is a fitting time for our beloved priests, servants of God’s people to spend quiet time with God and quality time for oneself and with the fraternity of priests. This retreat has the purpose of renewing and strengthening one’s commitment to the priesthood in order to give more. “Nemo dat quod non habet,” you cannot give what you do not have.

With the Most Rev. Alberto Uy, Bishop of Tagbilaran, as their facilitator, we pray for a fruitful and refreshing retreat of our dear Davao clergy so that they may return revived in zeal, joy and humility to serve God’s flock.

Let us entrust our priests to the maternal care of Mama Mary, Mother of the Church.
