You were never a mistake

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.” (Jer. 1:5) There is never a mistake among us. No matter how unplanned some were born, each one has a purpose that only God knows. Therefore, each one has a right to live from the start of one’s conception. For God has the best plan for each one of us.

This month of February, which is dedicated to enhance the appreciation and protection of life must not be the only time of the year to promote and support activities and steps that deepen the people’s awareness of the sacredness of life. The movie entiltled UNPLANNED, which the Family and Life Apostolate and the Commission on Social Communications of the Archdiocese of Davao will show in SM cinemas here in Davao on February 23, is only one of the attempts to show how serious we are in facing the challenge to support life. Other programs, like the SAGOP KINABUHI 2 and feeding the poor children at the Archdiocesan Nourishment Center, are also commendable.

The family remains to be the basic unit in society. It is there that charity begins. It is there where one must feel he or she is never a mistake but willed by the Creator.
