Things I have learned in this Covid-19 pandemic

  1. SAFETY SHOULD COME FIRST. Listening to the mandate of authorities saves us from the threat of the pandemic. Social distancing, wearing of face masks, frequent hand-washing help in the prevention of the spreading of the virus.
  2. SAVING FOR THE RAINY-DAY MATTERS. We’ve been told about the story of the ant and the grasshopper and the lessons they taught still applies in this global pandemic. Once you have saved at least a little of your income in the past months/years, you will be confident that you have amount to spend for grocery or palengke while people are not allowed to work.
  3. BASIC NEEDS HELP US SURVIVE. Food, clothing, shelter are basic needs that allow us to survive. If we have the resources for them, then people can survive while the pandemic is still around.
  4. MATERIAL THINGS DO NOT NECESSARILY BRING HAPPINESS. While staying at home, I realized that too many stuffs has only brought clutter and serve no use. I realized that we should need to assess our wants and needs as it will help us save money and free ourselves from too much stress later on.
  5. SHARING IS CARING. I remember that some neighbors gave us their share of the food ration during the lockdown. Since we have enough, the supply can suffice but upon hearing that our relatives have not received food rations, we decided to give them our share. At least we can survive the duration of the lockdown together.

Thank you God bless! Keep it up! Pray us! I hope we can travel back to Davao soon in God’s time since we are stranded here at Manila.
