Youth, Gifted to Give (Part 4)

(An excerpt of the talk of the Most Rev. Abel C. Apigo, D.D., bishop of Mati, March 22, 2021 during DXGN Online Recollection)

2. Youth: “Always Missionaries!” (play the video again)

The theme song of the 10th World Youth Day held in Manila way back in 1995 reminds every Filipino Youth to go and “Tell the World of His Love!” Every time this song is played in the recessional of any mass I am always challenged to live it each day in my priestly journey. The sea of millions of young people swaying at the tune with the accompanied actions in the lyrics of the song brings always a sense of pride and dynamism that the Filipino Youth can live up to the challenge of Telling the World of God’s great sacrifices – His passion, death and resurrection which are world re-telling to the people of today.

The document Christus Vivit mentions that “even those who are most frail, limited and troubled can be missionaries in their own way, for goodness can always be shared, even if it exists alongside many limitations. A young person who makes a pilgrimage to ask Our Lady for help, and invites a friend or companion along, by that single gesture is being a good missionary” (cf. CV # 239). Anaa gayud ang diwa nga GIFTED TO GIVE!
