Holy Rosary, More than a Repetitive Prayer

It’s October once again and for us Catholics it means that we are honoring the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary as we celebrate Rosary Month. We all know that praying the rosary is not just a repetitive prayer of Our Fathers, Hail Marys and Glory Bes. Rather, if prayed heartily we are invoking God’s mercy and asking Mama Mary to intercede for us through the different mysteries. Though praying the rosary is unacceptable Catholic practice for other denominations, I find solace from friends from other religion who respect and even appreciate our devotion to Mama Mary thru praying the Holy Rosary.

It only takes 15 to 20 minutes of our time to pray the rosary and it’s up to you when and where you pray it whether it’s at night or at day or at home or during your break time at the office. You may also pray simultaneously with DXGN Spirit FM’s Rosary Prayer every 8 o’clock in the evening. As for me, I usually pray it in the morning as we go for a ride on our way to work of which I accompany my mother to her optical clinic. Instead of just observing the traffic flow during a car ride I find comfort in praying the rosary through the downloaded mysteries of the Rosary I got from YouTube. My day is never complete if I can’t pray the rosary. I can attest that my devotion to it has led to many answered prayers and requests. Just like my prayer request for my two daughters to be accepted in a state university in the city, thank God and to the Blessed Virgin Mary my prayers were answered. It was indeed an answered prayer of a widow with limited budget. My daughters being in the state university with a free education is a very big help in our day to day living and I don’t have to worry myself with regards to college educational expenses.

More than anything else at this time of pandemic we should bombard God through Mama Mary’s intercession as we pray the Holy Rosary for this pandemic to end and for guidance as well as to help us live in the new normal not only during this month but every day of our lives. I hope you too could find time for it and start your devotion to the Holy Rosary.

Below is a prayer that I would like to share with you from vaticansite.com to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary:

O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, in these times of such brazen impiety, manifest thy power with the signs of thine ancient victories.

From thy throne whence thou dispense pardon and grace, mercifully regard the Church of thy Son, His Vicar on Earth, and every order of clergy, religious, and laity, who are oppressed in this mighty conflict.

Thou who art powerful, the vanquisher of all heresies, hasten the hour of mercy, even though the hour of God’s justice is every day provoked by the countless sins of men, the sons and daughters of Adam.

Obtain for me, the least of men, kneeling before thee in supplication, the grace I need to live righteously upon earth, in order to be numbered among the just in heaven.

In the company of all faithful Christians throughout the world, I salute thee and acclaim thee as Queen of the Most Holy Rosary.

Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for us. Amen.

“Go to the Madonna. Love her! Always say the Rosary. Say it well. Say it as often as you can! Be souls of prayer. Never tire of praying, it is what is essential. Prayer shakes the Heart of God, it obtains necessary graces!” – St. Padre Pio
