Created to Care

Creation includes the human being. God, the creator of everything, created human persons to be his collaborators in taking care of all his creation. Caring for creation then, is a call for everyone.

We can have so many concrete expressions to care for creation. Everyone must care for life from womb to tomb, instead of promoting contraception. Any tree-caring program must consider the after care for planted trees so that growth may be monitored. The campaign for “no to single use plastics” and segregation of recyclable materials must start from each home and office for proper disposal and recycling. These are few of the many concrete ways for us to show genuine care for creation.

Remember what Pope Francis said: “All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation, each according to his or her own culture, experience, involvements and talents.”
