Rev. Fr. Leonardo “Bong” Dublan Jr., St. Joseph’s Reflection

Today is a wonderful day to thank the Almighty for our fathers and all those men who have been icons of God’s benign paternity in our lives. Now is the time of great celebration and gratitude for the fathers who have helped us in our spiritual journey and who have cared for the Church.

As we remember all the fathers today, we are also reminded of our spiritual fathers, the priests who extend their care and love to God’s people. The St. Joseph Parish is indeed celebrating the presence of its parish priest, as the virtues of St. Joseph has been reflected in his journey with us.

June 12 is the annual celebration of National Independence Day in the Philippines, likewise, an important date to parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Parish because it was the 60th Birthday of Rev. Fr. Leonardo “Bong” Dublan Jr., our Parish Priest.

It was on June 12, 2018 when Fr. Bong was assigned as the new Parish Priest of St. Joseph Parish.

Since then, discussions of the word “Piniyalan” began to emerge and in the same year, all GSLs started organizing the “Pundok Banay” in all GKKs led by the Tigpasayon sa Pundok Banay (TPB) through the leadership of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Leonardo Dublan Jr., the 40 GKKs were able to have 325 Pundok Banays.

Fr. Bong never stopped spreading the word “Piniyalan” and continued it at the GKK Level and Pundok Banay through the Kolokabildo or meaningful conversations, a time for listening, expressing gratefulness and resolving issues.

Among the many dreams of the parishioners is to make St. Joseph Parish a Shrine and Fr. Bong helped realized it as he strengthened the devotion to St. Joseph through conducting a 33-day preparation for the Consecration to St. Joseph which is now in its 12th batch.

Because of Father Bong’s continuous and consistent campaign to parishioners to strengthen the devotion to San Jose, the proclamation of the Confraternity to St. Joseph was achieved and announced by Most Rev. Romulo Valles, D.D. during the 59th Parochial Fiesta of St. Joseph The Worker Parish.

Fr. Bong initiated the Spirituality of Stewardship (SOS) in St. Joseph Parish and continues the massive campaign for SOS. At present, St. Joseph Parish has already 896 SOS Practitioners.

For the many innovations, programs and projects you’ve done, parishioners of St. Joseph Parish are grateful to you.

We are so blessed because you have instilled DISCIPLINE IN US, YOU HAVE GUIDED US IN OUR JOURNEY TO BE A TRUE STEWARD through our Spirituality of Stewardship programs. You are an instrument for most of us to live a life of devotion to our very own Patron Saint, St. Joseph. You take the LEADERSHIP in ensuring that our dream for St. Joseph to become a Parish Shrine will be a reality soon or soonest through the various programs and activities that you have introduced.

Thank you Fr. Bong for leading us the way! Thank you for journeying with us to the road of Stewardship. And may your GLOW continue to radiate, influence and inspires us.
