Tagum Blessed with 2 Ordinations

It has been said that vocation is a gift and indeed the Diocese of Tagum is more than blessed to have two of gifts in one week.

The first days of August have been pretty hectic due to two ordinations of diocesan deacons. It hasn’t been long since the ordination of Rev. Fr. Hilario Villaver, Jr. MAfr although a religious, but still from the Diocese of Tagum. These ordinations are indeed wins of the church and marked a significant milestone for the local Catholic community.

The two recent priestly ordinations were held first, at the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Asuncion Davao del Norte on August 7, 2023 and second at San Miguel Parish, Santo Tomas Davao del Norte on August 8, 2023. Rev. Fr. Paul John Banaybanay and Rev. Fr. Raymund Danila Baguhin were ordained in a solemn and joyous event attended by parishioners, family, and friends.

Rev. Fr. Banaybanay, known for his compassion and dedication, has served the parish as a deacon for the past year. His journey to priesthood has been marked by a deep sense of service and a commitment to spreading the message of love and hope.

Surely, he is excited to this new journey as a shepherd to the flock, Rev. Fr. Baguhin, brings a wealth of experiences and cultural understanding to his new role. His passion for social justice and outreach programs promises to bring positive change to the community.

Both newly ordained priests share a common vision of fostering a strong sense of unity and faith among parishioners. As they embark on their pastoral journey, their unwavering commitment to guiding souls and nurturing spiritual growth is truly inspiring.

The ordination ceremony was a testament to the enduring power of faith and the call to serve a higher purpose. Rev. Fr. Banaybanay and Rev. Fr. Baguhin’s dedication and humility serve as a beacon of light, inspiring others to deepen their own spiritual journeys. (Jerson Andrei Paraguya – Diocese of Tagum)
