Expression of love, gratitude and hope

Young people from the different GKKs of San Roque Parish-Malabog gathered together to celebrate Parish Youth Day last December 17, 2023 in connection with the celebration of the National Youth Day through the theme “Kabatan-onan: Kabahin sa Sinodal nga Simbahan.” Young servants got the chance to embrace the youthfulness they have within, which is gifted to them by God.

“Padayon… ug ang ang inyong presensya makadani og lain pang batan-on,” Rev. Angelo Espinas said as he welcomed the participants in his opening remarks.

Afterwards, the participants shared laughter, lessons and friendship as they enjoyed the parlor games prepared by the facilitators.

Later on, Sem. Christian Procorato, Sem. Jerick Bustamante, Sem. Rogelio Sancez, Bro. John Loyd Eben and Bro. Norie Mark Muaña facilitated the sharing of thoughts that alleviated the heaviness felt by the youth, which also bridged the participants to individually express their own experiences of how they feel the love of God, eyes became teary and each one offered a shoulder to cry on.

Additionally, San Roque Parish Youth Apostolate of Malabog was united by a prayer which highlighted the event, a prayer that strengthened their bond together, with God as the center of it.

Following this, they made a letter addressed to their own selves and to God which took place in front of the church, throughout the peaceful night.

PYA is grateful to the PPC members headed by Rev. Fr. Cirilo Bermudez-Parish Administrator in behalf of Rev. Fr. Arnold Balaquinto-Parish Priest, to Rev. Angelo Espinas, to the Parish Staff, to the parishioners and to everyone who endlessly showed love and prayers to the young ones.

It was indeed a day of expressing love- by giving an assurance that no matter what it takes He will never leave us; expressing gratitude, thanking each other for another year of journeying together to become closer to God; and expression of hope-looking forward for another momentous chance to be united for the next coming years.

To God be the Glory!
