Home for the Aged Visitation

As part of the commemoration of the 75th Diamond Jubilee of the Archdiocese of Davao, themed “Pastoral Care of People with Need of Special Attention” for the month of March, St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish has chosen CO SU GIAN Home for the Aged in Buhangin, Davao City as the beneficiary of this month’s celebration. The center is one of the chosen beneficiaries for charitable work and works of mercy by the Parish which housed 52 elder residents with 30 female and 22 male.

Marking a significant milestone in our Synodal Journey, the St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary headed by its Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Dionisio Tabiliran with the pastoral office-in-charge, Parish Social Action Ministry (PSAM) Core Group and selected Pangulo sa Pagpangalagad (PSA) and Social Communications Committee (SoCCom) visited its chosen beneficiary, the CO SU GIAN Home for the Aged last April 6, 2024.

The event commenced with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration at 2:00 PM, presided over by Rev. Fr. Dionisio Tabiliran and attended by the Parish Team, the elderly residents, and the staff, led by Center Head, Ms. Ramonita M. Salamanca, RSW. During the Holy Mass, two elderly volunteers took part as readers. Following the service, the Head Nurse Alexander G. Sacopayo, shared insights into the center’s history, after which a fellowship ensued. Selected PSA members and elderly residents showcased their talents in dance and song, while everyone savored a meal prepared by the Parish Team. The elderly residents beamed with joy as they enjoyed the program.

The CO SU GIAN admin and staff gratefully thanked the Parish Team and Parishioners for sharing their resources by donating food packs, toiletries and other personal items.

The success of the celebration was undeniably attributed to the unwavering generosity of the Parishioners of St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish, who willingly shared their time, talents, treasures, and efforts in support of our elderly in need—a true testament to their commitment to stewardship.
