Embracing the Poor: A Call to Compassion

As we observe the World Day of the Poor, on November 17, we are reminded of our duty to care for those living in poverty. The Archdiocesan Nourishment Center (ANC) in the Archdiocese of Davao City embodies this call through its holistic support for impoverished children. From feeding programs and healthcare to educational support, ANC addresses both immediate and long-term needs, nurturing both body and spirit.

This year, ANC’s annual fellowship dinner on November 22 will raise funds to build two new feeding centers, expanding its impact. Supporting this event is a tangible way for us to participate in ANC’s mission and express solidarity with the poor.

The World Day of the Poor encourages us to reflect on our blessings and act with compassion. Inspired by ANC’s example, let us answer the call to uplift those in need, making compassion a daily commitment, not just a single observance.
