Am I Not Here?

“AM I NOT HERE… I, WHO AM YOUR MOTHER,” was the 3rd Parochial Fiesta and 2nd Canonical Establishment Anniversary theme of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish located at Phase 6 Deca Homes Resort and Residences, Barangay Tugbok, Tugbok District, Davao City last December 12, 2024.

The Pontifical Mass was presided by Most. Rev. Romulo Valles, D.D., Archbishop of Davao concelebrated by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Leif M. Simbajon together with other guest priests. Archbishop Valles expressed his gratitude to the parishioners for inviting him and letting him celebrate the mass. He recounted the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe and San Juan Diego, highlighting that this was among the first Marian devotions to reach the Philippines, where many remain devoted to.

After the mass, a friendly basketball game happened between the Davao Clergy and parishioners at the Barangay Tacunan Gym, Tugbok District, Davao City. Last part of the celebration was the Parish Night. The said celebration had 3 parts: 1. Marian Cosplay 2. Amateur Singing Contest and 3. Latin American Dance. These were participated by the 7 zones under the said parish. Bro. Oscar Gallemit, GSL Coordinator, expressed his gratitude to everyone for their efforts in ensuring the success of the preparations for the celebration. (Kristelle D.
