Archdiocesan Nourishment Center Holds Annual Dinner for a Cause, Celebrates 10 Years of Feeding Children

DAVAO CITY – The Archdiocesan Nourishment Center (ANC) held its annual “Dinner for a Cause” on November 22, 2024, at the Mergrande Ocean Resort in Talomo, Davao City. The event marked the 10th anniversary of the ANC’s feeding program, which has been providing nourishment and education to children in need across the city. The event brought together priests, benefactors, volunteers, and beneficiaries of the ANC, creating a space for celebration and reflection on the organization’s impact.

In his remark, ANC Director Msgr. Paul Cuison highlighted the center’s unwavering commitment to addressing malnutrition and fostering the holistic development of children. “We feed daily in four centers: Fatima, Bucana, Bankerohan, and Dump Side. We also occasionally provide meals in two other centers: Talomo and PME. This year, Rizal Memorial Colleges has generously granted twenty college scholarships to our beneficiaries,” he shared. Msgr. Cuison emphasized the importance of ANC’s holistic approach, which extends beyond providing meals to include education and formation programs.

The evening also included a special recognition for Mrs. Mercy Evangelista, a dedicated individual whose contributions have been instrumental in the growth and success of ANC. Her untiring support and dedication have played a significant role in ensuring the center’s impact on the lives of countless children.

Archbishop Romulo G. Valles of Davao, in his message, reminded attendees of the importance of their collective commitment to the ANC’s mission. “Let us renew our commitment and continue to be agents of change in the lives of those who rely on this center for nourishment both physical and spiritual,” he urged. “Together we are building a stronger and more compassionate community where no one is left hungry. May this evening be a reminder of our shared mission to serve, love, and walk with faith with one another.”

The “Dinner for a Cause” was a proof to ANC’s dedication to serving the community. The event raised funds to support the ongoing feeding program and expand educational opportunities for the children. The evening was filled with inspiring stories, heartfelt speeches, and reaffirmed the importance of collective action in building a brighter future for children in need. (Sem.
