Celebrating Faith and Fellowship: The 15th Parochial Fiesta of OLMMP

On November 27, 2024, the Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish celebrated its 15th Parochial Fiesta with a day full of solemnity, joy, and thanksgiving, united under the theme, “Nagkahiusa diha sa Pagtoo: 75 ka Tuig nga Grasya, 15 ka Tuig nga Milagrosong Debosyon.”

The celebration began with a Pontifical Mass at 9:00 AM, presided over by the Most Rev. Romulo Valles, Archbishop of Davao. Joining him were other religious and diocesan priests, including the beloved first parish priest, Msgr. Martiniano Gorgonio, who, despite his advanced age, graced the occasion from his wheelchair. Most Rev. Abel Apigo, D.D. Bishop of Mati, was also present to honor the event with his presence.

After the Mass, visitors were invited to a fellowship meal at the rectory. Meanwhile, parishioners from Zones 1 to 6 gathered in their respective kiosks for a lively lechon and purok-making contest. Judges from St. Mary’s Parish in Buhangin evaluated the entries, and Zone 6 emerged victorious in both categories.

The afternoon festivities began at 3:00 PM with a Jubilee Thanksgiving Mass marking the culmination of the 75th Jubilee celebration of the Archdiocese of Davao. The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Jesus Samaniego. Following this, a Jubilee Thanksgiving Program was held at the parish level, where 75 GKK servant leaders were recognized for their faithfulness and dedication to the Church. The parish’s 15 ministries were also awarded for their contributions to spiritual growth and service. Additionally, 15 benefactors who played vital roles in the construction of the parish church were honored for their generosity and commitment.

The 15th Parochial Fiesta of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish was an evidence to the enduring faith and unity of its community. It was a day filled with gratitude, fellowship, and the grace of God, celebrating 75 years of blessings and 15 years of miraculous devotion. (Marilou A. Luzon / OLMMP Soccom)
