Diocese of Mati Enumerators Training 2024

Enumerators’ Training to respond the CBCP Survey

November 23, 2024, in San Nicolas de Tolentino Cathedral, the Diocese of Mati conducted an Enumerators’ Training in collaboration with Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU). This initiative aims to assess the Catholic Church’s journey 500 years after its arrival in the Philippines.

The event featured Dr. Mary Fil M. Bauyot, who provided a comprehensive overview of the interview process, emphasizing important considerations for gathering accurate and respectful data. Dr. Janessa Pilar introduced the survey application and explained the procedures to ensure smooth implementation. Mr. Niño Ngoho, facilitator, also contributed to the success of the session.

The training was further graced by the presence of Most Rev. Abel Apigo, D.D, Bishop of Mati, who extended his heartfelt thanks to the volunteers for generously sharing their time and expertise to help make the survey a success. Rev. Fr. Glen Dave Felizardo, who served as the event moderator, graced the occasion alongside Rev. Fr. Alfe B. Alimbon, the Social Communications Director, and members of the diocesan pastoral staff.

The volunteers will now carry out the crucial task of interviewing parish leaders, members of Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs), ministries, and even non-Catholics. This collaborative effort not only highlights the Diocese of Mati’s commitment to the Church’s mission but also serves as a key step in reflecting and strengthening the Catholic community’s presence and service after 500 years.
