“Ask and it shall be given”
“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” (2 Chronicles 15:7)
God is truly good to our group for 11 straight years.
Did you ever have a long-time dream you asked and prayed for? That was the same for us, the San Pablo Quick Response Team. We had a long-time dream, asked, and prayed for it countless times. We had always hoped to have a rescue boat, one that we could use during operations and for training purposes. What started as a simple hope turned into a tireless effort. We explored various funding sources and organized projects to raise the necessary funds for a small rescue boat we had our eye on.
From August to September 2024, the San Pablo Quick Response Team joined the Ondoy Boat Competition. Together with the beloved parishioners of San Pablo Parish—including the kids, youth, center organizations, and other dear companions—we worked hard and received overwhelming support. Many helped by liking and sharing our Ondoy Boat Video, which garnered thousands of views and ultimately earned us first place among all rescue volunteers across the Philippines.
This rescue boat was more than just a trophy for our group; it became proof of the power of unity, prayer, and dedication. It represented the efforts of everyone who supported us, whether through prayers, emotional encouragement, or physical help. This boat, which had been our long-time dream so we could use it during deep floods, water and safety rescue training, and swift water operations, became a reality because of everyone who helped us. The boat we tried to raise funds for through fundraising projects and prayed for fervently was finally a dream come true. It is placed at the Pavilion of the San Pablo Parish.
Through the firm dedication of our team, our friends, loved ones, and the Youth Apostolate, the “Dream Boat” we had yearned and saved for became a reality. On January 5, 2025, our boat was officially blessed at San Pablo Parish by Reverend Father Ritsche Gamaya, one of the resident priests of the parish. This moment served as a reminder of God’s blessings, made possible through hard work and a commitment to serving both our parish and the wider archdiocesan community.
However, our journey does not end there. Our mission remains the same: Serving God through Saving Lives. We remain His faithful and loyal servant-leaders, believing this is just the beginning of even greater achievements. After all, we serve a limitless God. (Sophia Beatrice V.
