Celebrating Faith and Unity
Viva Pit Señor!
On January 18, 2025, the GKK Sto. Niño Chapel in Lanzona marked a significant milestone with the celebration of its 57th Patronal Fiesta. The day began with a solemn Holy Mass, presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Allan Rodriguez, together with Rev. John Patrick Pelonio. Parishioners and devotees from various chapels and zones gathered in great numbers to honor the Little Boy, Jesus Christ, in a heartfelt expression of faith and gratitude.
The Holy Mass on this special occasion served as a reminder of the true meaning of the fiesta — a celebration of the wondrous deeds of our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. It was a moment to give thanks for the 57 years of abundant blessings, strength, and unity experienced by the community. For nine days leading up to the fiesta, the chapel community, along with the GKK Servant Leaders (GSLs) and Cluster Leaders, engaged in a powerful novena. These days of prayer and reflection created lasting memories and deepened the faith of the parishioners, instilling in them values of humility and unconditional love — qualities reflected in the pure and innocent spirit of a child.
A highlight of the celebration was the blessing of the statues of Señor Sto. Niño, a moment of reverence and devotion. Following the blessing, the students of St. Mary’s Initial Learning Experience School, under the leadership of Head Administrator, Julie Anne B. Litob, presented a song and dance number that added a festive atmosphere to the day’s events. The celebration continued with a lively Ati-atihan performance led by Erich Balala, a trainee of the San Pablo Quick Response Team. Youth performers, all from Lanzona Subdivision, danced in unison, offering their joy and praise to the Little Boy, Jesus Christ.
The fiesta also featured the Divine Cosplay Culmination and the Kids and Youth Festival 2025, events that emphasized the importance of children in the celebration. The participation of the youth reminded all present that the cheerful voices and innocent presence of children bring immeasurable joy and hope to the chapel. The success of these events was made possible through the support of the Zone 7 Alumni, as well as key figures like Rev. Father Ritzchild “Dandan” S. Cariaga, former Zone Youth Coordinator, Ate Katrina (former Pangulo sa Batan-on), Nanay Cheng (catechist), Ate Donnalyn D. Delos Reyes, and Ate Dianna D. Amar, whose dedication and hard work were instrumental in making the day a success. Their collective efforts helped bring blessings and smiles to every child present.
The fiesta was also made possible through the generosity of our esteemed benefactors, including Atty. Chalm Aliviado, Tito Niño Aliviado, the Corro Family, Tita Cholly, and Tito Albert Marcelo. Their contributions in decorating, preparing, and serving the community were essential in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that the fiesta was a memorable experience for all.
As we reflect on this year’s celebration, we are filled with gratitude for the success of the event, which brought together the community in faith, joy, and unity. Under the loving guidance of Señor Sto. Niño, we have been reminded of the power of collective devotion and the strength of our shared faith. Through this celebration, we have renewed our commitment to one another and to our faith, united as one community in Christ. (By Sophia Beatrice V. Sison | Photos by Brenda P. Milan)
