First Quarterly Gathering of the Fraternity of the Diocesan Clergy of Davao

Last January 14, 2024 the Fraternity of the Diocesan Clergy of Davao commenced its first quarterly gathering for the year 2025 at the Mergrande Ocean Resort, Davao City. The event marked a significant milestone as the newly elected officers of the fraternity were formally inducted into office by Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., Archbishop of Davao.

The gathering began with a solemn celebration of the Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Leonie Espana and concelebrated Fr. Johnny Autida and several priest present. The celebration held special significance as both priests together with Frs. Ricky Peñalosa and Proceso Gimeno, Jr. commemorated their 26th sacerdotal anniversary, a testament to their enduring dedication to their priestly vocation.

During the celebration, the induction was made, with the new set of officers solemnly taking their oath of office. The officers expressed their commitment to leading the fraternity with integrity and a renewed spirit of service. The new set of officers are: Rev. Fr. Dexter Veloso – Animator, Rev. Fr. Mark Kim Samones – Vice Animator, Rev. Fr. Efren Gubac, Jr. – Secretary, Rev. Fr. Alfredo Bustamante Jr. – Treasurer, and Rev. Fr. Cecelio Canico – Auditor.

The celebration concluded with a sports activity and a fellowship gathering, where the clergy shared a meal and engaged in meaningful conversations. The Fraternity of the Diocesan Clergy of Davao continues to play a vital role in fostering unity and spiritual growth among its members.
