Guided by Him, The Light

(An excerpt of the homily of the Most Reverend Romulo G. Valles D.D. during the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord in San Pedro Cathedral Parish, January 5, 2024.)

Epiphany comes from the Greek word, epiphaneia.. to make known, to reveal, to show, pagpakita, pagpadayag… to make known who God is, to make known that God has become man, God has been born in Bethlehem.

“Oh God, who on this day, revealed, your only begotten Son to the nations, by the guidance of a star, grant in your mercy that we, who know you already by faith, may be brought to behold the beauty of your sublime glory.”

Today’s feast (epiphany) is not only looking back…but ang sekreto that we too like the magi who already have faith, kita pod ma mexcited, may be brought to behold the beauty of your sublime glory.

Ang Christianity maoy origin sa beauty of Christmas, light dili lights, by the guidance of a star. Light is a big theme during Christmas, He is the light.

You cannot appreciate light kon walay darkness. During Christmas it’s good for us to realize mga kaguol, kalisod, dili swept away, atong problema, evil is still operating but we have the light.

Joy to world because now bisan naay darkness, we walk by The Light.
