OLLP pilgrims of hope with Mama Mary
“Do whatever he tells you,” Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles highlighted in his homily from John 2:5 during the 22nd Feast of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal referring to what Mama Mary said to the apostles during the wedding at Cana.
Following the instruction of Jesus, the apostles offered the best wine that gave life to the banquet as a sign of Jesus’ gratitude to the wedding hosts; in the same way, following the instruction of the parish priest, the GSL did their very best in giving life to their respective ‘bahay kubo’ per GKK district as a gratitude to faithful parishioners in celebrating the 22nd parochial fiesta.
Another biblical message highlighted by Archbishop Valles in his homily was the verse from Isaiah 49:15 that even if a mother should forget her own baby, “I will never forget you,” which Isaiah was referring to the eternal love of God.
The message gives hope to the parishioners as they continue the synodal journey in the 22nd Parochial Fiesta, for the love and care for the health of Parish Priest Father Henry Campeon and the unconditional services to the Church throughout this jubilee year.
These two biblical passages struck the hearts of many parishioners who continue to journey this jubilee year and gave life to ecclesial activities and courage to OLLP pilgrims of hope with Mama Mary, our Lady of Lourdes.
The pilgrims of hope “make us rise above our trials and difficulties, and inspire us to keep pressing forward, never losing sight of the grandeur of the heavenly goal to which we have been called.” (Pope Francis’ Bull of Indiction, Spes non confundit #25).
Viva Maria!
