14th LCCP Convention Inspires Faithful as ‘Pilgrims of Hope’
On March 1, 2025, the 14th LCCP Convention with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope” brought together lectors, commentators, cantors and psalmists (LCCP) from different parishes of the Archdiocese of Davao at the Regional Major Seminary (REMASE).
The convention officially started with remarks from the LCCP President, Miss Rowena C. Nuera of Sta. Ana Shrine Parish, who emphasized the changes of this year’s convention and words of gratitude from the ALC Director, Father Michael Ondras, Jr.
This year’s plenary speaker is Rev. Fr. Edilberto “Loloy” Mahinay, whose session is focused on deepening people’s understanding of hope, discussing the church document “Spes Non Confundit” or “Hope Does Not Disappoint”.
In his session, he highlighted the things seen by the church — people’s uncertainty, suffering, hopelessness, impatience, and loss of meaning and respect — and how the Church calls upon the faithful to stay hopeful despite these struggles, to become the men and women of hope today.
“LCCP of Davao become the bearers of hope for God’s people” he imparted this challenge as he concluded his session, urging the participants to carry the message of hope beyond the convention and into their ministry and daily lives.
The LCCP Convention stands as a testament to the enduring hope that unites its members, equipping them with the faith and resolve to uplift their communities through their ministry. (Shelou Maniquez)
