DADITAMA Logo
SHAPE: The logo’s shape resembles the usual coat of arms of bishops and dioceses, symbolizing DADITAMA’s commitment to the Apostolic Mission of the Universal Church.
DOMINANCE OF COLOR BLUE: The color blue reflects the Marian values embraced by the people of God in DADITAMA. It represents popular devotions such as the Birhen sa Barangay and Flores de Mayo, deeply rooted in religious traditions. This also highlights the considerable number of parishes and GKKs dedicated to Mary, the Inahan sa Kanunay’ng Panabang and Mediatrix of God’s Grace.
SENTIRE CUM ECCLESIA: Meaning “to feel with the Church,” this caption embodies the spirit of synodality. It signifies DADITAMA’s commitment to fostering unity within the ecclesiastical province and the Universal Church, working toward a unified Body of Christ that leaves no one behind.
MAGELLAN’S CROSS: Just as Magellan’s Cross symbolizes the beginnings of our Filipino Catholic Faith, DADITAMA looks back with gratitude on how the light of faith reached our soil through generous missions decades ago. It underscores the centrality of Christ in DADITAMA’s vision, mission, and journey. It reflects the Gospel values that guide the Church in bringing light to the darkest corners of the Ecclesial Territory.
HANDS: These hands represent the Providential Hands of God that guide and sustain the Local Churches. The fingers of these hands also resemble four individuals, symbolizing the four local bishops of DADITAMA, who are instruments of God’s providence for the growth of the Church.
PATH WITH FOOTSTEPS: The path signifies the shared mission of DADITAMA’s dioceses to shepherd souls on their journey to salvation in Christ and the Beatific Vision. The footsteps also speak of the missionary nature of the Church, just as Christ sent his disciples by two (Mark 6:7), signifying the importance of accompaniment and teamwork.
FIRE: This symbolizes the burning faith of the people of God in DADITAMA. It is derived from the inverted map of the Davao Region, illustrating how the light and warmth of faith reside in this land.
DOVE WITH OLIVE LEAVES: The dove represents the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, guiding the Church on its journey of faith. The olive leaves symbolize hope and peace, which sustain believers as they strive on their pilgrimage.
ROOF WITH A CROSS: This element highlights DADITAMA’s commitment to strengthening Basic Ecclesial Communities (Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban), which serve as the foundation of the Local Churches.
SYMBOLS OF ST. PETER, VIRGIN MARY, CHRIST THE KING, AND ST. NICHOLAS OF TOLENTINO: These sacred symbols collectively represent the steadfast guidance, intercession, and inspiration of the patrons and heavenly protectors of the dioceses of Davao, Digos, Tagum, and Mati, uniting the faithful under their care.
PANORAMIC PRESENTATION OF DAVAO REGION: This element represents DADITAMA’s mission of evangelization across the region’s diverse landscapes—cities, farms, mountains, and coastlands—ensuring that the Gospel of Christ is preached to all.
