OLMMP: 67 PSLs Commissioned During Ash Wednesday Celebration

On March 5, 2025, the first day of the Lenten season, 67 candidates from 34 GKKs of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish were officially commissioned as Pangulo sa Liturhiya (PSLs) by Rev. Fr. Jesus Samaniego during the Ash Wednesday celebration. This special rite marked their formal sending forth to serve in their respective Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs).

Before their commissioning, the candidates were carefully selected by their GKKs and participated in a renewal retreat on February 14–15, 2025, at Monte Ana Haven in Marilog. This period of reflection and formation prepared them for their vital role in the Church.

As newly commissioned PSLs, they administered ashes in their GKK chapels on Ash Wednesday, guiding the faithful in observing the solemn day of repentance, which marked the beginning of the Lenten journey.

This commissioning not only empowers the PSLs to fulfill their liturgical duties but also strengthens the faith and unity within their communities. As they carry out their mission, they serve as living reminders of the call to repentance and renewal, embodying the spirit of Ash Wednesday. Their dedication reflects the growing role of lay participation in the Church, fostering a deeper sense of commitment among the faithful. (Marilou A. Luzon | OLMMP Soccom)
