Pro-Life Month Culmination: Celebrating Life and Family

The Pro-Life Month Culmination was a heartfelt gathering of faith and fellowship, celebrating the joys and challenges of family life. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish’s Family and Life Apostolate (FLA) and Pangulo sa Kristohanong Banay (PSKB) celebrated the parish-level culmination on February 23, the seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time.

The day began with an opening prayer, followed by the Opening Remarks from the Parish Pastoral Council Coordinator Bro. Henry Evangelista, who emphasized the importance of family values and the sanctity of life. A highlight of the event was the sharing of five couples about their family journeys, each receiving a Bible as a symbol of faith. Lively parlor games brought joy to the participants, adding to the spirit of camaraderie.

The Parish Priest Fr. Emmanuel “Bong” Gonzaga delivered an inspiring message, followed by a video message from Fr. Orly Angelia, Director of the Archdiocesan FLA, reaffirming the Church’s mission to protect and nurture families. Fellowship over meals strengthened the sense of community, and the closing remarks expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the event’s success.

The celebration continued with the Rosary for Life, led by Acting FLA Coordinator Sis. Mary Richelle L. Boholano, with five couples leading the prayers for the protection of life. Bro. John Niño Leyson, Zone 1 PSKB Coordinator, then provided a catechesis on faith-centered family life.

The culmination concluded with a Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Gonzaga, with FLA and PSKB members serving as sponsors and offering gifts. This event reaffirmed the parish’s commitment to upholding the dignity of life and strengthening faith-filled families, guided by the words of Jeremiah 1:5: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” (Mary Richelle L. Boholano, FLA Coordinator)
